What can students' do?

There are a number of different things which students can do to be more ethically and environmentally friendly. A few simple steps are;

Ensuring that electrical appliances, such as televisions and computers, are switched off at the mains when not in use for longer periods of time, and not just left on stand by, as this still uses electricity
Switching off lights when rooms are not in use, and using energy saving lightbulbs - this can also save money on electricity bills
Bring in used postage stamps to the 4th floor of the union on the Paisley campus, and we will send them to charity
Recycle as much of your waste as possible
Buy recycled paper
Where ever possible, buy Fairtrade produce
Bring in used printer or toner cartridges and we'll send them away to a charity to be recycled, just bring them in to the fourth floor of the Paisley Union.
