► Personal Safety

The Students' Association is always concerned with the well being of the students whom we represent. As such we can offer advice and give information on how to remain safe inside our Union buildings and outside.
Alcohol/Drugs
The Association offers advice on how to prevent spiking by encouraging students to drink responsibly. We can also offer confidental advice to students who have a drug/alcohol problem.
Alternatively, Drink Aware offer facts on alcohol, as well as tips and tools for cutting down on how much you drink and how to avoid the hangover! They also offer an online unit calculator, so you can find out how many units (and calories) you consumed the night before. To visit their website, click here.
Getting home
Travelling around the area where your campus is located can seem daunting, especially if your not from Scotland! The Association can give advice on how to travel safely around the different areas. The Union buildings have bus and train timetables which you can use in order to plan your journey. Also as most of the Student Accomodation in the Paisley Campus are not on campus, the Students' Association runs a free bus between the off campus residences and the Paisley Union building at night.
Pulled?
The Students' Association wants all students to enjoy themselves when they are having a night out. If things go really well, the students Association can give advice on what type of contraception to use, right up to information on how to prevent sexual assualt. Condoms are also freely avaliable in all of our Union Buildings.
For more information and advice on staying safe on a night out, visit the strathclyde police website by clicking here.
Information and help on harassment
www.hiddenmarks.org.uk is a support site for victims of violence, harassment, sexual assault and stalking. The women’s campaign has created the site for students who have experienced violence to know where to turn.
