This year UWS Goes Global is a priority campaign, therefore I thought I would share some details of what is happening with it so far.
Some of the ideas for this campaign are to firstly promote ERASMUS - a programme for students that enables you to study abroad, usually in your third year of study. This programme is open to all students and all courses, so everyone should be applying! However at the moment 95% of our applicants are from the business school alone. So this year I aim to make the programme accessible to all through marketing and promotion of the programme and hopefully you are all interested in studying abroad.
Secondly this year I aim to set up a partnership with XChange Scotland a charity organisation in Glasgow. Here is a link to a prize that explains the way the organisation works http://prezi.com/5fyqqg9jrubu/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy&rc=ex0share . The programme is available to anyone, even graduates so take a look! It is VERY affordable and has some great opportunities for students. Here is a link to their website for more information (www.xchangescotland.org). XChange Scotland will also be at the Volunteer Fair so stop by and see them then!
Further on from this, this year myself and Gill the citizenship co-ordinator aim to make International students experience here a memorable one, there are a range of activities planned and on throughout the year so keep an eye on the website and twitter - follow @DPEWSAUWS. Another aspect of the campaign is to keep looking at International fees and making sure they are fixed!
I hope this all sounds good to you!
