Role Description

Course Marshall – Responsible for insuring participants stay on the track, while pedestrians stay off the track and encouraging runners along their journey.  Course Marshals should direct participants and ensure safety of runners.

Baggage team – The baggage team will be responsible for collecting participants belongings on race day, storing this away in the appropriate place and issuing the participant with a relevant ticket number.  At the end of the race, the baggage team will also be responsible for ensuring each individual receives their items back.

Start team – The Start Team will be responsible for letting participants off in different waves, and by moving each section forward in a controlled manner.

Drink Stations – Drink station volunteers will be responsible for distributing water at different points of the race to participants in a controlled manner.

Finish team – The finish team will be responsible for distributing finisher packs and water to all participants and directing them to the baggage collection points.

 

About this organisation

The newest addition to The Classic Run Series 2019 is the Ayr Classic 5 Mile Run which will take place on Sunday 6th October 2019. 

Home to The Scottish Grand National, participants will have the opportunity to run alongside the historic Ayr Racecourse and experience that finishing feeling under the gantry that only the world’s elite jockey’s get to experience.

The flat, multi terrain route of the Ayr Classic 5 Mile Run makes for the perfect challenge for the beginner runner to more experienced athletes.

 

What could you gain?

Volunteers have the opportunity to work at a new, mega road racing event, and will receive a branded Classic Run Series Rain Jacket and a packed lunch on race day, alongside experience to add to their CV for future opportunities.
