Joining a Society

Joining a society is easy. The information below will help you.

Joining a society

Check out the society list and find the society that you want to join.

To join a society you should click on their society link and get in touch with them using the contact details provided.

They will have an email address and probably a facebook page too. You will see these on the bottom right corner of their society page.

Their page might have details of where and when they meet. If they do, just head along to their next meeting and say hello!

Come and visit the Students' Association and we will help put you in contact. We have offices at the Ayr, Lanarkshire and Paislay Campuses.

For a lot of societies there is no membership fee for joining. Some societies may charge a fee but if they do, this will be a maximum of £10.

The society's committee will let you know if you need to pay a membership fee. They'll also let you know how and when you can pay.

Liberation Groups

There are five defined liberation groups:

  • LGBT+ Students
  • Disabled Students
  • Black Students
  • Women Students
  • Care Experienced Students

Liberation groups have no membership fee to join. In order to join the group, just get in contact using the same methods explained above.
