Volunteering is a great way to help you make the most of your time at university, have some fun and develop your experience and skills!
Is volunteering for you?
Employers love volunteers - build your CV
- As a graduate, employers know you can learn and they take your knowledge for granted. What they need to know is, what makes you stand out from the rest. Volunteering is a great way to make yourself stand out from the crowd and have something to talk about at interviews.
You put something back
- Think about the impact you can make by fundraising for a children’s charity or by lifting the mood of a club full of dancers with your next choice of song. Volunteers get that feeling all the time.
You meet new people
- University is probably the place where you will share a common experience with the most people in your life. Volunteering is a great way to meet some of them.
So volunteering is fun, helps you meet people, helps you become a better person and helps other people in their lives. Sounds great – and that’s why the Students’ Association offer volunteering opportunities.
Volunteering can also allow you to build networks for future employment. We are building links with organisations to help provide opportunities relevant to you.
